Regis Philbin is Retiring?

Famous TV icon, Regis Philbin, has decided to retire from his popular show “Live with Regis and Kelly.” His retirement comes as a surprise to the many people who watch his sensational show every weekday morning.

Regis is known for more than this long-lasting show, which used to feature Kathy Lee Gifford as co-host before Kelly Ripa joined the team. His track record includes hosting “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire,” “Million Dollar Password” and “America’s Got Talent.” He also holds a Guinness World Record for most hours on camera, with a total of 15,662 hours. Regis is clearly a hard-working man who has dedicated most of his life to entertaining others.

Regis, now 79, has also had his fair share of personal troubles. He has gone through a hip replacement surgery, a blood clot removal and a triple heart bypass surgery. These difficult times, however, did not stop him from continuing to do what he loves. I would say it’s certainly time for Regis to take a break.

Regis’ long career on “Live With Regis and Kelly” also proves that aging doesn’t mean sacrificing fashion sense. His trendy and modern suits are known as his trademark attire as he sits beside Kelly. He also sports stylish glasses that a man of any age would wear.

In the photo below, Regis sits outside with Kelly while filming one of their hit shows. He sports sleek and fashionable black sunglasses. The Laguna Bi-Focal Sun Reader offers a similar design, while incorporating hidden bi-focals for easy reading in the sun.
