This weekend the “How I Met Your Mother” star, Neil Patrick Harris, hosted the American Top 40. He answered fan questions and talked about his role in “The Smurfs.” He has a knack for hosting, but we love his humor when he acts!
You’ve seen Neil on shows like “Doogie Howser, M.D.,” “Starship Troopers,” and “A Very Harold and Kumar Christmas”. He’s also been on Broadway in “Sweeney Todd” and “RENT.” His knack for hosting made him irreplaceable when hosting the Tony Awards, Emmy’s and Spike’s Video Game Awards. He’s a very talented and versatile actor.
But acting isn’t his only talent! Neil is directing the play “The Expert at the Card Table,” which premiered last weekend at Broad Stage in Santa Monica, California. He’s also a producer of the theatrical game “Accomplice: Hollywood”. And he’s dipping into children’s audio books television series like “Robot Chicken” and “The Penguins of Madagascar”.
Neil’s next movie is “The Smurfs.” He plays the lead: An expecting father who has his life turned upside down upon meeting the smurfs. The movie is available in 3D and it comes out July 29! Be sure to go and check it out!
In an interview, Harris and his costar Jayma Mays talked about what they’d want their smurf names to be if they could choose. Neil said he would be “Herculian Smurf” to make up for being a short, skinny guy! During this interview, Harris wore a snazzy black suit with a clean white shirt, but no tie. It looks very casual, yet still very professional. We think he’d look very dapper in a pair of men’s reading glasses!
