Tint is great - but why the magnification?3/27/2016

Can't use this product. The tint is great, but all that magnification is not necessary. Why can't you make amber glasses with no extra frills?

Work perfectly for my needs3/24/2016

I use these to read my iPhone and iPad in the dark before going to sleep. Work perfectly. Not too dark, just shade the light differently. They seem to be working - I feel sleepy earlier. In other words, I'm not awake for hours after reading. Fall asleep quickly.

Accurate Magnification, Lightweight, Sturdy, Comfortable, High Quality, Stylish, True To Size

LOVE THEM AND THEY WORK12/6/2015
Comments

Glasses work great in both office and home when working with computer and phones/tablets. On a computer screen, normal black text without the glasses seems to almost be a dark gray. With these glasses, the contrast is much much sharper which in turn makes for less strain. I love these at work. It also cuts the glare on the screen and bothersome fluorescent lighting. At home, even in low light settings, the glasses work great for computer screens/phones/tablets. For my needs, when doing manual things around the house, particularly in normal house lighting, it darkens a bit too much so have to switch off to regular readers. I had a pair of Gunnar Optiks--just not enough magnification. These work for my needs quite nicely.

These are great BLUE LIGHT BLOCKERS5/14/2015
Comments

I'm sensitive to blue light and until I found out about its effects on the brain and how it causes insomnia, I had a heck of a time getting enough sleep. The typical 'computer glasses' with the pale yellowish lenses relax the eyes but they don't block much blue light. I hunted for orange/amber glasses and tried several but I also need glasses to read and wearing blue blockers OVER my prescription glasses didn't work well. I was delighted to find these readers. For those who say these lenses are too dark...well, yeh, everything looks orange when the glasses are first put on. However, after a bit, the brain adjusts and things look "normal" with the glasses on, then when they are removed everything looks pale and washed out. I always find it amazing how my brain gets used to the orange tint so easily and how shocking it is when I take the glasses off. THAT's when I have a hard time adjusting. If you watch TV or use your computer at night and then can't sleep, give these guys a try. The price is well worth the gamble that you might sleep better. My only complaint is that Read.com offers only this one style with these intense orange/amber lenses. I'm communicated with their R&D department and hope they expand the styles available.

Feels stronger than the flexible readers, I like the look and the "rest" it seems to provide my eyes while working on computer.

Comments

I gave 4 stars instead of 5 because the shading is just a tad to dark. Considering that I've paid about ten dollars more for this type of eyewear locally, these are a nice deal.
