Bristol Palin is really starting to make a name for herself. She starred on the Dancing with the Stars in 2010 and finished in third place with her partner Mark Ballas, but the couple didnt get the most welcoming applause from everyone in the audience. Palin says, “I noticed some of the contestants rolled their eyes when they realized we’d survived to dance another day,” she writes. She says, they literally would not speak to us or acknowledge our presence.”
Her new memoir, Not Afraid of Life: My Journey So Far came out on Tuesday, June 14 and it exposes certain parts of her life such as her relationship with John McCain’s daughter, her relationship with her ex and baby’s daddy, Levi Johnston, and exposes her thoughts on motherhood which has in turn made her become lecturer of abstinence. Though it’s receiving criticism, it may actually help other women who share a similar story as Bristol. Levi wasn’t supportive of her, and he cheated on her frequently. Other than the secrets about her ex, she has other helpful information in the memoir that will keep us intrigued. While visiting Haiti, Mommy Bristol even wanted to take home a baby who had cholera and didn’t have a family to care for him. Because of her motherhood, she has become a very sweet and strong woman.
The book also exposes her thoughts on John McCain’s family and how his daughter, Meghan, treated the Palins. “Every time we saw Meghan, she seemed to be constantly checking us out, comparing my family to hers and complaining,” she writes. “Oh the complaining.” She even talks about the family carrying themselves as though they are royalty. And to some of us, they are. Bristol writes, “I’d never seen people with so much Louis Vuitton luggage, so many cell phones, and so many constant helpers to do hair and makeup,” She said McCain’s wife looked “like a queen” and held “herself like royalty.”
It is a big step for Bristol to write this memoir exposing some of the most secretive aspects of her life, but she did it! She is on the road to success with and without the help of her mother Sarah. Bristol is a beautiful young lady and is already a smarty pants. You can bet she wore her adorable rectangle glasses while writing her memoir!
