Hello list loves!

As a former English major and constant note taker, I have a bit of a problem when it comes to scribbling. The moment I get an idea or plan, I have to write it down. You see, this would be acceptable, except for the fact that I use just about everything (old receipts, napkins, envelopes, random papers) besides the usual notebook or post-it.

crafting for lists, to-do's, and menus

As part of my DIY and Pinterest obsession lately, I’ve decided to change my messy ways. I like to call this my “List Lovely Frame,” a place where I can jot down thoughts, ideas, brainstorming, schedules, to-do’s, pretty quotes, and grocery lists. This charming little craft project is extremely easy (and low cost) to make, and I promise you’ll be organized and planned to perfection once it’s finished 🙂

Here’s how all of you, my fellow compulsive list makers, can make this easy-breezy, adorable frame:

dry erase frame utensils

  • Picture frame (big, small, bold, or simple–whatever you fancy!)
  • Scrapbook paper (I bought a 12×12 booklet of scrapbook paper so I could have a couple of pieces to switch out, depending on my mood :))
  • Pen or pencil
  • Scissors
  • Dry erase marker

  • Take the back off of the frame.
  • Remove the existing frame insert, and place it on your scrapbook paper.
  • Line up the corners, and trace the border of the frame insert onto the paper.
  • Trim off any excess scrapbook paper.

  • Throw away the insert, and place your scrapbook paper inside the frame as the “picture.”
  • Replace the back of the frame.

And there you have it! Use your dry erase board to write, decorate,  list, and commemorate.

To reuse your frame for anything and everything, use a paper towel or cloth to wipe off the dry erase marker.

These dry erase frames are perfect for hostessing (write the menu on the board!) and for making others happy, of course!
