Exergames? You’ve probably heard of Wii Fit, but have you heard of Vi Fit? This project at the University of Nevada, Reno, is making it possible

for blind children and adults to exercise through video games, even though they cannot see the screen. By adapting popular Wii games like bowling and tennis (and by making them free to download!), these researchers are making it possible for more people to get fit and have fun at the same time.

Advancements in Science: Scientists at UC Irving have created the first three-dimensional tissue structure to be made from stem cells – an eight-layer, early stage retina. This could eventually help millions of people regain their vision and is a huge step in treating retinal disease.

Multi-focal vs. Single Vision Lenses: Do you wear prescription bifocals or progressive lenses? If you have a history of falls, you might want to invest in a pair of single vision lenses, too. New research shows that switching to single vision glasses when outside could help reduce your risk of falling. Sounds like a good idea to me!

Seeing Through Different Eyes: Ever wonder what someone who has glaucoma sees? Someone who is color blind? This handy tool from WebMD shows you what you might see with different vision problems, including cataracts and retinal degeneration.
