Is your house the meeting spot for friends and family to watch the latest hit series? Do you host annual award show parties? Or do you just love to entertain? If this sounds remotely like you, we think you’ll love this!

We’ve created a collection of reading glasses perfect for The Entertainer. Here you’ll find styles inspired in shape and name by some of our favorite actors, musicians, movies, and shows.

How charming! A half frame reader like The Charm has a high bridge and is commonly worn further down your nose to keep your distance vision unobstructed while providing you with the magnification you need for reading.

Don’t miss the action!  Looking for a pair of readers that you can keep on while reading and watching a show? We recommend a pair of bifocal readers like The Actor Bifocal. Not to mention — a classic round frame never goes out of style!

Bifocal readers have unmagnified lenses which also contain inserts with the magnification of your choice in the lower portion of the lenses.

If retro is your style, we recommend a style like The Draper with fully magnified lenses and a retro square frame.

Heading to the drive-in or projecting a movie outside? Choose a pair of reading sunglasses like The Geller Reading Sunglasses with the magnification of your choice throughout the lens.

Shop the entire Entertainer Collection to find the perfect pair for your entertaining needs!

Disclaimer: All references to “bifocals” herein refer to readers having unmagnified lenses containing a “bifocal style” single powered reading glass insert located in the lower portion of the lenses.

If you’re anything like us, keeping track of your reading glasses tends to be a never-ending task. When you need them upstairs, they’re always downstairs. Sitting on the couch? You left them in the kitchen. And then you throw in a pair sunglasses to the equation and you have to keep track of two pairs of glasses? Forget it.

We’re here to make reading glasses shopping easier, but if we can also make your everyday life easier, we’re even more excited. That’s why we’re happy to show you two new styles of 2-in-1 reading glasses, made with you in mind.

Magnetic Reading Glasses

These styles are just like a regular pair of readers, but with a twist! In a snap, you can go from regular reader to reading sunglasses thanks to the magnetic frame front, which allows the separate front piece with tinted lenses to attach to the frame. You can choose from several styles including fully magnified or bifocal, polarized, mirrored, or standard reading sunglasses lenses.

Photochromic Readers

If you need readers to drive or enjoy the outdoors, we recommend a pair of our photochromic readers! When indoors, the fully magnified lenses on these styles are clear. Once you step outside and expose them to UV light, they gradually darken to tinted lenses. Readers → Reading Sunglasses, it’s just that easy!

If you find you are having problems with close-up vision but your distance vision is unhindered, bifocal reading glasses might just be the answer!  We know that if you’re purchasing a pair of bifocals for the first time it can be difficult finding the answers you’re looking for. To assist you in finding the right pair of bifocals that fit your optical needs, we’ve provided answers to frequently asked questions, along with information on our Readers.com bifocals.

What are bifocal reading glasses?

Bifocals are lenses that have two focal points. At Readers.com, our bifocal readers have unmagnified lenses which also contain inserts with the magnification of your choice in the lower portion of the lenses.

The unmagnified upper section helps you focus out in the distance while doing activities such as driving, watching tv, cooking, etc. On the bottom of the bifocal lens you will select your reading power, which helps you see up close while doing activities such as looking at a map, reading a book, sewing, and following a recipe.

Doesn’t “bifocal” mean a lens has two focal points in it?

It does! Although the top of the bifocal lens is clear (also known as “plano”), it allows you to see at a distance without correction, giving the lens two focal points: the unmagnified upper lens and the lower bifocal insert portion.

What are bifocal sunglasses?

Like our regular bifocal readers, these sunglasses are unmagnified at the top, and have your reading power in the bottom portion of the lens. The bifocal power helps with seeing your speedometer, writing on a scorecard, reading a compass, etc. If you are an avid fisher you will love how our polarized bifocal reading sunglasses allow you to see out into the water and also look down to bait your line or remove the prized fish you just caught.

As an added bonus, all of our reading sunglasses are UVA/UVB protected!

What are customizable bifocals?

Customizable bifocals are perfect for people who have different powers in each eye, but the top of the lens still cannot have power added.  If you have a need for customizable bifocals we highly encourage you to check with your eye doctor to confirm your reading power before ordering, as these glasses are custom-made at our local lab and are non-returnable and non-refundable.

Do you carry no-line or executive bifocals?

No–to be accurate, no-line bifocals do not exist. There are lenses called progressives, which we do not carry, and are commonly confused as no-line bifocals. These are different because they have multiple focal points and not just two.

Executive bifocals are lenses that have the bifocal power across the entire width of the bottom section of the lens, rather than the half moon (“flat top”) bifocals our readers have.

Is it possible to order power in the top portion of the lens?

Since our glasses are pre-manufactured and cannot be changed, it is not possible to order bifocals with a different magnification in the top and bottom of the lens.

Still have questions?

Didn’t see your question answered above? We’d love to assist you! Just ask your question in the comments and we’ll make sure you receive an answer.

Warm weather is bound to be on the horizon, which will have us daydreaming about lounging by the pool with a good book (or tablet). To enhance your outdoor reading we’ve compiled a list of gadgets that will turn your poolside reading time into a backyard oasis.

Reading Sunglasses

Reading Sunglasses

Reading sunglasses are exactly what they seem: sunglasses that have a reading glasses prescription. There are two main kinds of reading sunglasses: bifocal and fully magnified reading sunglasses. The tinted, reading sunglass lenses are perfect for outdoor use.

Wide Brimmed Hat

You’ve got your stylish reading sunglasses, now all you need is a wide-brimmed hat. A wide-brimmed hat will not only keep the sun off your face, but will give you proper shade so there is no need to squint while reading.

Umbrella Halogen Heater

Have you ever wanted to read outside on a starry, summer night but it’s just a little too chilly? An umbrella halogen heater attaches to standard umbrella poles making it easy to enjoy a summer night with a good book.

Everyday Innovations Bookmarker

This simple accessory is perfect for the avid notetaker. The Bookmarker is a replaceable pen and bookmark rolled into one, with 100 sticky notes for marking off pages and a strap for holding your book shut as well.

Anti-Glare Screen Protector

Screen Protector

For the reader who has gone electronic, an anti-glare screen protector is just what you need for your device. Tablets are great for indoor reading, but once they are taken into the sun, text can become obstructed by glare and finger smudges. To boost the clarity of your device and cut down on glare, definitely consider an anti-glare screen protector.
