The Actor blends a larger, round frame shape with touches of tortoise and bifocal lenses for a combo you can't pass up. The top of the lens is unmagnified, while the bottom of the lens is magnified with your power, from +1.25 to +4.00. Bifocals may feel lower due to larger lens size.

I like these glasses because I can wear them all day--not just for reading or working at the computer. They are a fun addition to my growing collection of Readers.

I love that I can do close up work with these readers and yet look out distances and see clearly! I will need to get another pair of bifocal readers to take to work so that I am not constantly taking my glasses off so that I can see people near me clearly :)

65 year old male-average head-narrow set eyes. Bought the tortoise.rnrnThese are pretty close to perfect. Have gotten a few compliments. I find the bifocal to be at just the right height (many are too low) about 1/2 way up the lens. This allows easy transition between clear and magnified use.

I received these (Actor Bifocal) today and put them on immediately. Totally love them. I was reluctant to order as I had read reviews about bifocal being in wrong place, too small, etc. I love them. I was worried they would be too big for my face, but I have a small roundish face and they fit perfectly. So nice to not have to worry about switching glasses all the time and misplacing them. Yahoo! May just wear them all the time. Lightweight, comfortable, just right for me! I highly recommend them if you want a nice pair that isn't very expensive. Great quality for the price. Go for it. I did and I don't regret it! May order another pair.

Working Great!6/28/2017

Right now, I'm wearing 1 of the three similar pairs I bought all the time, and that's working fairly well. Why am I doing this? Shortly after these arrived, I was involved in a really nasty accident, scratching the check out of my $400 prescription glasses. After 3 weeks in the hospital recovering, I'm still not able to get myself to the eye doctor because I still can't walk much yet. No matter, I'm home doing a lot of reading now (so these came just in time).rnrnI did order three slightly different bifocals styles, and I did find that the ones with the larger bifocals area work best. The bifocal sections on the other two pair do just not cover enough of the overall lenses, making them difficult to find just the right angle to position my eyes to effectively use the bifocal sections of the lenses. In fact, one of the pair I received have a bifocals section that barely covers 1/4 of the overall lenses. REALLY hard to work with those! rnrnThe bifocals section on my most often used pair just up closer to half of the overall lenses. Now that works! And for the price, with the quality, including the hinged sides, I barely remember when I've got them on at all. I've even slept all night in them, and the plastic tortoises frame took that abuse without issue.rnrnI'm back to get a second pair of my favorites (just, the last thing in case). W with as totally shattered right leg, the last thing I need to do is lose my already wobbly balance as I recover, fall, and ruin these new favorites. Although I wonder if I could ruin them in any way, lol!rnrnFinal words of advice? Go for glasses with a larger, squares lenses shape, hinged sides, and the heavier style of plastic frame. These aren't meant to be delicate high fa shion glasses that look more like some kind of high end fashion jewelry, or they'd cost as much as that kind of show-off stuff. rnrnAll the same, I have gotten compliments from the nurses and medical staff while in the hospital, so for all of about $20 bucks, of course I'm getting a second pair of my favorites. Don't expect they will disappoint. rnrnSo for those of you who ended up unhappy with yours, sometimes it is manufacturing error. Then again, think it thru before purchasing. Think shape, depth/size of the overall lenses if getting bifocals, consider the hinged frame option to prevent the glasses from getting out of shape or pinching, and remember...These aren't high fashion glasses you have to take extra care with anyway. Within reason, you get what you pay for. Don't go looking for DKNY, Diane Von Furstenberg, and the rest of the high end crowd out there who have found yet another way of selling you an alleged high end brand of specs for an equally high end price. Really? Are they all optical design specialists now too? Gee -- array of their talents knows no bounds, huh? Wish I could do it all too. But alas...rnrnIf $20 bucks is going to break you, get the $4.99 kind of readers from the drugstore instead.
