I have been wearing drug store readers for 35 years. The quality of material and optics are equal to designer frames with prescription lens. The very best I have ever seen. If you are not buying readers here you are wasting money and getting inferior products. Buy 1 pair and SEE the difference

WATCH OUT, They Changed Them3/22/2016

DANG. I'm a big fan of the Magnums. But just got an order of several pair, different colors and strengths. Unfortunately, they have made some changes. The nose piece (the metal part between lenses) is now 7/8 " longer. As a result, the nose rests are now nearly 1/4" further apart. This would be great for someone with a bigger nose than mine! Also, the temple piece used to connect to the lense with 1/8" of the lense above the temple piece. Now they have 3/8" of lense above the temple piece. (THE MAGNUMS PICTURED ARE THE OLD STYLE - Note the lense sticking up only 1/8" above the temple piece connection.)rnWhen I called to remedy this, I was told that the suppliers make these kind of changes without notice to readers.com. I was given a return authorization, but beyond that now help was forthcoming. I will look at some of the other half-frame models, but am a bit disillusioned about the company. This is not my first return, and quality control seems to be a problem for them. I suggest that anyone ordering readers here should inspect them well and return right away if they are not right. Bummed enough to make me write this! Customer service could have been more helpful by directing me to other models - but they sounded content to authorize the return.

Pros
Accurate Magnification, Lightweight, Comfortable

These readers are utterly perfect for me--nearly frameless but sturdy. The fit is wonderful and the style allows me easily to look over the tops of them to see distances when necessary.rn

I like the style & the fact that it is so easy to look over the top of the lens for distance vision. Unfortunately, I dropped them a couple of times on a hard surface & caused a little damage to the frame. Lenses held up well however & they are still wearable.

the best thing about these readers was how nice they were to look over when you didn't actually need them for reading but didn't want to take them off - but then ... even using 'kid gloves' the darn things broke at the bridge ... and that was that -- I will say that Readers.com was more than helpful in allowing me to replace the glasses at no cost with a different, new set of readers of my choosing (I don't think I'll go with this style of half-frames in the future) - so now I'm just waiting for the new pair to arrive in the mail -- thanks Readers!

Now that we've bought more than a few pairs of the different styles, there are things about all of them that are similar. Qualitatively, they are sound structurally, dependent upon design. For instance, a full frame is less flexible than a half reader. The lenses are ground uniformly across the plane, and there is little to no distortion. Out of the 8 pairs we've bought so far, given the cost to quality ration these are hard to beat. Compare them to Foster Grants from Walmart, and the price is similar. Readers quality is better, less distortion, more choice in the selection.

Love these glasses. This...5/3/2015

Love these glasses. This is my fifth pair, as I really love the style (half rim, clear on top). Only complaint I have is that they have a weak weld on the right side (wearing them) of the nose piece. This has been a consistent problem with each pair. My last 4 pair have broken at this weld. They are very weak on this side for some reason and repeated opening and closing them (on and off your face for instance) puts stress on this spot for some reason. I still love them, and the price. Wish they'd look into why this particular side is weak here...?

Bought one pair of the Magnum to see if they are exactly what I wanted and it turns out they were. Lightweight and fits well on the nose that I can easily look over them when needed. I just now ordered two more pairs of so that I can keep a pair at work as well as a pair in my car.
