Using a printable diopter eading test card

If you're purchasing reading glasses online, you can use our printable diopter chart. With the printed sheet 14" away, attempt to read the top line without reading glasses. Continue down the chart until you find a line you can read clearly without your glasses on – this is the diopter (power/magnification) you need.

Test various reading magnifications

Prescriptions for reading glasses increase by 0.25 diopters, such as +1.00, +1.25, +1.50, and so on. However, for simplicity, some diopter charts may increase by 0.50 or by the whole number. Start by trying on reading glasses in the power that your test results yielded. You'll want to test out several pairs that are both weaker and stronger than your test results. Narrow it down to two magnifications — both of which you see well with — and always choose the lower of the two powers.

Look, I'm sure the glasses

"Look, I'm sure the glasses are wonderful but I did not know they were spring hinge. I wear my glasses on top of my head when not using and they eat your hair because the arms can move outward and for that reason don't stay on top of head well. I'm not a fan of spring hinge glasses and their description did not say spring hinge anywhere and I couldn't tell from the picture. why can't you find dollar store non spring hinges with a stronger magnification? they only go up to 3. 0 in most stores. I don't see a lot of people wearing their glasses on top of their head and wearing around neck gets in the way of housework etc."

"I wish I could give 0 stars. You kept sending me the wrong powers. I asked for 2. 25 and you kept giving me 3. 00 four times!! I asked for replacements and now have 4 useless pairs at 3. 00 that you have asked me to donate to charity. Be thankful that you are getting one star as you did refund my entire order.
