How to discover your Reading Glasses Power

Using a printable diopter eading test card

If you're purchasing reading glasses online, you can use our printable diopter chart. With the printed sheet 14" away, attempt to read the top line without reading glasses. Continue down the chart until you find a line you can read clearly without your glasses on – this is the diopter (power/magnification) you need.

Test various reading magnifications

Prescriptions for reading glasses increase by 0.25 diopters, such as +1.00, +1.25, +1.50, and so on. However, for simplicity, some diopter charts may increase by 0.50 or by the whole number. Start by trying on reading glasses in the power that your test results yielded. You'll want to test out several pairs that are both weaker and stronger than your test results. Narrow it down to two magnifications — both of which you see well with — and always choose the lower of the two powers.
*The power selected will apply to all the pairs inside the multipack.

Reviews

"Cute glasses but extremely crooked and hard to bend to fit properly. Very poor plastic for the price. These felt like the cheap $8 ones you buy in the drug store. But love the color and style."

"I highly recommended READERS, they have a great selection and ship quickly."

— Nils G. (5/5)

Love the style however I've

"Love the style however I've had several that broke at the curved area above the hinge. Since all three pairs that failed, failed in the same spot I suspect it's an issue with the design. Perhaps some reinforcement at that spot would fix the weakness. That said, I just got another 3 pairs of the same design. . . they're comfortable and if I get 5 or 6 months out of a pair, I'm good. I generally have 2 or 3 pairs in rotation."

— Nancy L. (4/5)

Like them a lot.
